Miravoy Publications is a new publishing company: new in the market place, and new in how it operates.Miravoy was designed to provide the author, or software writer, options on how they publish and sell their work. We provide different levels of commitment between author and publisher, different marketing options, several degrees of operation, and varying levels of production. Since each work and author is different, it only follows that each contract should be different also.Miravoy is not a traditional publisher, nor are we a vanity (or Subsidy) Press. A traditional publishing company typically pays all the costs of editing, design, printing and marketing; but the author recieves a small percentage. Besides, traditional publishers typically reject 98% of first time authors.The other option is the vanity press. They will publish anything by anybody and the royalty is usually a little better than the traditional publishers. However, they also typically require you to pay anywhere from $15,000 to $40,000 to publish your work. Many times an unknowing author will take out loans to get their book printed, never to recover the costs.At the other end of the spectrum is self publishing. Self-publishing a book provides all the rewards of doing everything yourself, but also requires a large investment on your part. You invest all the money, all the time, take all the risks and suffer all the overhead. There is a lot to know about the publishing industry, missing one thing could ruin all of the hard work.Then there is Miravoy. We consider ourselves the balance between the traditional publisher and vanity press, and self-publishing. You pay for the creation of your book, but we pay an industry high 55% royalty on net after production. The cost of creating a book is typically between $3,500 and $11,000. And we offer different levels of contracting depending on how much control you want on the marketing and sales of your work. It is Miravoy's special structure and contracting system that makes this all possible.
For the programer, we offer a variety of options for the mass production, sales and distribution of your software. The software side of Miravoy operates much like the book publishing does, with a few differences that are special to the nature of the software industry.
